“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Happy 4 th of July! This special holiday is most likely associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, concerts, baseball games, sitting on a beach, family reunions and so much more! Today, also known as Independence Day, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring the original colonies to be FREE from British rule.
Today, I want you to ponder the word FREE.
Turning to Webster's dictionary, here are some definitions I found…
1. Not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes
2. Not or no longer confined or imprisoned
3. Not subject to or constrained by engagements or obligations
Today, as we celebrate our freedom as a country, I encourage you to reflect on your freedom in Christ. What does that mean to you specifically? Are there areas in your life that you need to be freed from? Maybe worry, or anxiety? Fear? For me, I tend to turn back to worry when I cannot see God’s hand moving in my life. I want things done quickly and He is a God whose ways are not my ways. When I lay my worries – or whatever might be keeping me in bondage – before Him, I can find freedom and stand firm because I know that God will accomplish all things that concern me! Today and always!

I pray that you would spend some time with GOD today and ask Him to reveal areas in your life where you need to be freed. Where does He need to step in and break the chains of bondage? When you surrender these areas in your life over to Him, just remember, you are a new creation in Christ and He has set you FREE indeed!
Wishing you a wonderful 4 th of July!
